Storefront in Progress

In order to get some funding going to use to pay for things like real art for the books and website, as well as to pay for some of the services we’re making use of like the webhosting and such, I’ve been working on monetizing the ClockTower. It’s been an on and off process, and I feel like a shill trying to figure out what to sell and how. But, I am working on some good stuff. I’m working on a ‘zine with a couple of collaborators.

First of all, to answer the question, a zine is a short little self published magazine. Typical 8-16 small pages done either with a home printer or screen printer, depending on the resources the author has access to. I’m thinking of just using the home printer for now and single sheet, 8 panel zine layouts.

As far as content, currently, I’m thinking short story arcs that are serialized to take four to eight zines to tell the story. I’ve already reached out to an artist to do the covers for the first story arc and I’ve got some ideas percolating for the next one. I think this could be an entertaining way to tell stories that take place within the Fylaxian Galaxy and establish some characters and flavor for the game. So, look forward to seeing Captain Ellsworth’s introduction to the galaxy at large soon!
