The Only Constants in Life…
Yup. Not a lot to talk about as far as game progress goes. Most of the last month has been dedicated to getting the company’s financials in order and getting ready to file taxes. This’ll be the first time filing as an LLC, so I’m not sure what that’s going to look like. But, I did get all of the numbers crunched and I think I’ve got all the information I need to get started on them. What fun that’s going to be.
Another note for company progress, we’ve launched a Bluesky Social account, though it’s very young and just getting going. I never used Twitter very much in the past, so this is a social media format that’s going to take some getting used to. On the other hand, the mini community on there seems really cool already. With the current social media environment being what it is, we’ll continue to put out periodic TikTok content, and we’re going to be starting to make content for YouTube again soon. I want to start doing 3-5 minute faction focus videos once we’ve got models for a couple of rosters painted. First up will be the Terran Reclamation, since it’s the first faction that has two rosters written and models painted for them.
On the other hand, I did get some hobby work done this weekend. I’ve been plugging away making slow progress on what we’re calling the Order of the Palm, a subset of the Terran Reclamation. Their the mailed right fist, so to speak. Very aggressive, very militant, and hopefully effective on the table when I get to playtest them. I’ve got the big three guys painted and based. They need a little cleanup and then a clear coat, maybe a few little extra details in the basing. We’ll see. Though, they have been my first go at doing any kind of free hand painting on minis and I don’t hate them. I actually think the palm and the fish turned out really well. They are the models in the thumbnail, and they’re kitbashed most from 3d printed Anvil Industry parts, though the spears are from a Games Workshop kit.
Coming up next month, we’re going to be getting back into the swing of playtesting at Geeks & Games in Oregon City and continuing to write fiction and updating the rules where we find issues. It’s a slow trek, but we’re going to get this pony to the barn one way or another!
